The Battersea Poltergeist podcast!

New Year Arts

Incredible to see the Observer critics pick 'The Battersea Poltergeist' podcast as one of their coming highlights for 2021!

The series is based on events detailed in my book 'The Poltergeist Prince of London: The Remarkable True Story of the Battersea Poltergeist', and I played a small behind-the-scenes role providing background information for this production, although it was Danny Robins and his people who did all the work.

Me, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show. Aside from anything else, the casting is amazing: Toby Jones and Alice Lowe? I've been a fan of both for years!

"The Battersea Poltergeist, out on 21 January on BBC Sounds, tells the true story of 63 Wycliffe Road, an ordinary house in south London in 1956. Strange events start happening around a teenager, Shirley Hitchings. Are they caused by a poltergeist? Danny Robins presents (he speaks to an 80-year-old Shirley) and a high quality cast, including Toby Jones and Alice Lowe, recreate dramatic scenes, with spooky music by Nadine Shah and Ben Hillier."
